Tibi Dam is apparently the oldest flood-control dam in Europe, and is a vast expanse of water (unusual for the Costa Blanca region) with many winding paths and hilly walks.
This is an ideal place to spend half-a-day having a picnic - and the locals can be seen either fishing or swimming in the various alcoves.
Please be aware that there are many unprotected steep drops - so small children and animals should be kept on some kind of restraint, and due to the rugged nature of some of the paths - it may be unsuitable for the elderly and infirm.
From the villa head inland on the A-77 towards Alcoy - but turn off and follow the signs for Tibi. Drive through the 'Centre Urbana' and then follow the brown-coloured signs for 'Pantana de Tibi' (Tibi Dam)
